13 designers, 50 models, 30 hairstylists and makeup artists,50 volunteers, 45 sponsors, and 3 performers = 1 great show!
The Pink Carpet Event for Women’s Health concerns such as breast cancer screening and other related issues took place August, 9th in a fantastic studio that the Pacific Northwest College of the Arts provided. The second event for this cause was a spectacular success with over 250 attendees all ready to give support to this very worthy cause.
Cameron Levin and Grace Kelly, the show’s producers, held their first event in Seattle, Washington on February 2012 to try to equal out the funds that were going to be cut by the Susan G Komen fund to Planned Parenthood for their treatments and testing for women’s health issues. The decision to cut the funding was later reversed, but the event was already born and in full growth. Using local designers, make-up artists and hairstylists, they created a show that showed Fashion has Compassion and is not just a shallow industry concerned only with looking good; it has a heart also.
Beats were thrown down by DJ Supreme La Rock and Burlesque acts Angelique DeVil opened and Stilletta Marischino closed the show much to the delight of the audience!
