Beginning next spring the two power house brands will join forces and Macy’s will begin to carry (in over 450 locations) the Finish shoe lines.
With this new agreement the Finish Line will now be exclusively the only athletic shoe partners for men’s, women’s, and children’s shoes sold at Macys. In the big picture, the new joined forces plan to have over $250 – $300 million in sale annually.
“Finish Line is a widely recognized expert in athletic footwear for men, women and kids, including the best brands, newest technology and most current styles. We believe the enhanced footwear assortment they will bring to our customers at every full-line Macy’s store nationwide, as well as on Macys.com, complements our rapidly developing offering of activewear merchandise,” Jeff Gennette, Macy’s chief merchandising officer,
This new agreement has not been the only change in marketing strategy to Maceys recently. Earlier this month Macys had its debut of the worlds largest shoe department store in its New York flagship.
“This exciting agreement announced today with Macy’s propels Finish Line further as a leading omnichannel retailer,” added Glenn Lyon, chairman and CEO of Finish Line, in the statement. “Macy’s large and profitable store portfolio, its customer base that is concentrated in a demographic that Finish Line has not penetrated to date, and most importantly, its customer-centric philosophy and omnichannel focus make them an ideal partner for us to broaden our reach beyond our bricks-and-mortar stores and our website.”
With these two powerhouse companies joining forces to raise sales and give customers easier access to high quality athletic materials, this will certainly not be the last contract to be signed by the two companies.
