This year’s Emmy Award attendees showed off some of the best red carpet looks we’ve seen. We loved all the different trends including lace, sheer, bright colors, soft pastels and nude tones, and even saw a couple midriffs. We’ll start with our absolute favorite, none other than People’s choice for the ‘World’s Best Dressed Woman,’ Kerry Washington. She held her title in this Marchesa stunner. She glowed in the light cream gown with gold, lace detail on the bodice and flower appliques flowing down the bottom of the dress to the train. She topped the look off with a pale pink, gold accented clutch, and simple, gold jewelry. The gown was straight from the runway and according to USA Today, Washington said she fell in love with the dress as soon as she saw it at the Spring 2014 Marchesa Fashion Show. We loved how she kept her hair, makeup, and accessories very simple so that all of our attention was on that gorgeous gown.
Another look we loved was from Sofia Vergara. Seriously, what’s not to love about her and her red carpet looks. She showed off her famous hourglass figure in a red, Vera Wang gown. She accessorized the mermaid style gown with bright green jewels.
One of the most popular trends we saw on the red carpet was pretty pastels. And Claire Danes sported this trend fabulously. Danes’ Armani Prive gown was intricate, delicate, and sparkly. The gown featured multiple textures with crystal embellished straps, the clear, sequined top half of the dress and the lace fabric on the bottom half of the dress. Even though we’re crazy about her faux bob hairstyle, we loved her simple jewelry choice and pop of color, red lip.
Julianne Hough looked gorgeous a super sheer, a Jenny Packham gown. The off-the-shoulder gown was covered in crystals and showed off her tiny waist with an embellished belt. Even though the dress was extremely sheer, it was classy, elegant, and very unique. We loved her small, crystal clutch and simple, beachy waves.
One of my personal favorites was Kate Mara’s J.Mendel gown. The long-sleeved gown was right on trend with lace-detailed, sheer panels going across the top part of the gown. We loved the thigh-high slit that showed off her Charlotte Olympia open-toe ‘Pomeline’ platform heel.
A Tracy Reese dress can make any woman look great, but Michelle Obama looked absolutely amazing (as always) at the Let Freedom Ring Commemoration. The black A-line dress looked summery with its rose print.
Aside from all of the craziness that happened at the MTV Video Music Award show (Miley Cyrus’ performance, Katy Perry flashing a gold grill, Lady Gaga looking elegant and surprisingly fully clothed on the red carpet) can we please talk about our favorite looks from the red carpet?
Gucci’s much anticipated Sound of Change concert was a success. With performers like Beyoncé, Florence + The Machine, Jennifer Lopez, Ellie Goulding and more, the entertainment segment definitely exemplified girl…
